San Diego, Central America & Panama Canal Cruise

This unforgettable 18-day experience starts with two nights in San Diego as a prelude to a fabulous fortnight of cruising around both the Pacific and Caribbean coastlines of Central America, through the Panama Canal and finishing up in Florida’s Fort Lauderdale. After making a series of fascinating ports of call in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, the ship’s captain will carefully navigate a course through the world-famous Panama Canal on route to the sultry city of Cartagena in Colombia, and a final day at Half Moon Cay, Holland America Line’s very own private island in the Bahamas. You’ll most likely be cruising aboard the intimate Zaandam, on which you can enjoy a great mix of free time and organised activities, plus an array of dining, cultural, and entertainment options. We’ve chosen a 15-day cruise from San Diego to Fort Lauderdale, but please note that a number of different 14-day, 15-day and 16-day options are available (with slight tweaks to the itinerary), some of which operate on the Eurodam rather than the Zaandam, and some of which also allow you to cruise in reverse, setting sail from Fort Lauderdale to San Diego.
